Expand your contacts and delight your taste buds..... join us at this unique online event to network with you colleagues as we learn to make a beautiful cheese / charcuterie board for entertaining or gifting (or just to snack on)!

We will send you a presentation-ready Seneca mango-wood board, along with the non-perishable ingredients for your cheese / charcuterie creation (crackers, dried fruits, nuts and a jar of preserves).  We'll also send you a list of suggested items to add to your board - all cheeses and meats readily available in your local supermarket - and an instruction sheet of how to prepare your board.

Then Posh Pantry - featuring cheese connoisseur Kit Stroh as our host - will talk us through how to make the perfect cheese / charcuterie board.... creativity is encouraged... and beverage pairing suggestions will be offered.

Plus... we will draw for some amazing door prizes!!

(For this event, we will provide your name and address to Posh Pantry so that they can direct-ship the materials to you in advance.  Materials can be shipped to any address within BC.)

Please note that the materials for this class will be sent to the home mailing address in your profile, or if no home address is listed, then to your work mailing address.  If no address is included in your profile, you will not receive the materials.  It is your responsibility to ensure your address is up to date.  Please take a moment to check your profile to ensure your information is current.

Also note that full payment is required in order to complete your registration: please pay with your credit card on our website immediately upon registering.  Unpaid registrations will be canceled.

Below is a photo of what you can expect to make during this class (although yours will be on a gorgeous 10x10" wooden board rather than a white plate).

Beverage Pairing Tips

Sparkling wines are incredible with soft, creamy cheeses.

Sparkling wines have high acidity and carbonation, which offer a palate-cleansing effect to creamy, sticky cheeses such as Brie.
(try  this, this or this... or this for a non-alcoholic option... or this for an interesting beer pairing)

Bold red wines pair best with aged cheeses.

As cheese ages and loses water content, it becomes richer in flavor with its increased fat content.

These two attributes are ideal for matching bold red wines because the fat content in the cheese counteracts the high tannins in the wine. For the best results, select cheeses aged at least a year, including Cheddar.
(look for this,  this, this… or this pricey one... or for a good beer pairing, try this)

A dry rosé pairs well with Havarti.

The crisp, red fruit you find in a dry Rosé is delicious but delicate, and the mellow flavor you find in a Havarti complements the wine gracefully without overpowering it. In addition to this, the steely minerality of a dry Rosé (such as one from Provence) is a great contrast to the smooth, soft texture of the cheese.
(try this, this, this or that)

Try a fruity wine with nutty, medium-firm cheeses.

The ever-present red berry fruit of a Pinot Noir or Zweigelt is the perfect match for the nutty flavors found in a medium-firm cheese like Emmentaler. Both have just the right amount of aroma and complexity to them, without running the risk of one overpowering the other.
(look for Pinot Noir here, here or here, and look for Zweigelt here)

Mild charcuterie.

Without spicy or smoked flavors, mild charcuterie such as prosciutto can easily pair with a variety of wines.  Sparkling wines, light-bodied or aromatic white wines, rosé wine, and light or medium-bodied reds will all work well.

(look for this, this or maybe this, and find a non-alcoholic option here)

Bold charcuterie.

Bold charcuterie such as salami is a great option if you want to open a bolder wine with higher tannins. Though aromatic white wines also offer a delicious contrast of flavors.

(think about this onethis one or this one... or go big with  this one)
