Who should attend: Experienced paralegals, legal support staff, junior lawyers, and lawyers wishing to transition into wills and estates practice. 

Learning level: Intermediate/Advanced

Join us to explore complex estate planning issues including inter vivos trusts, testamentary trusts, testamentary capacity, and the contemporary issue of estate planning for blended families.  In terms of estate administration, this course will provide you with a review of  procedures involved with various estate grants, including probate, administration with will annexed, administration without will annexed, resealing grants, and ancillary grants. We will also discuss pre-grant and post-grant steps, including the passing of estate accounts and distribution.  In addition, we will examine applications under s. 58 curative provisions of the Wills, Estates and Succession Act. This course also features a review of recent and relevant case law, along with materials to assist in recognizing usual or difficult estate planning and administration problems.
