ABOUT THE BCPA

 

The BC Paralegal Association (BCPA) is a volunteer run, not-for-profit organization of over 600 paralegals, paralegal program students and law related organizations.  Originally known as the Western Association of Paralegals and BC Association of Legal Assistants, the BCPA was formed in 1979 to promote the professional development, continuing education and social networking of paralegals in British Columbia.

 

The BCPA's current role:

u

networking resource and voice for paralegals throughout the province;

u

promoting the growth and development of the paralegal profession in BC and Canada;

u

providing information regarding the current trends in the paralegal job market;

u

hosting lunch and learns and promoting other continuing education;

u

consulting with local educational institutions, providing input regarding course requirements;

u

providing bursaries to eligible students of recognized paralegal programs which include those at Capilano University and Vancouver Community College;

u

publishing the “Paralegal Press” newsletter
